Community Involvement:
-Relay for Life
Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to bring together those who have been touched by cancer in your community. At the event, they celebrate survivorship and raise money to help the American Cancer Society in its mission to save lives, help those who have been touched by cancer, and empower individuals to fight back. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times. Since 2007 Allanté has sent it's Massage Therapists to the event to donate 7 hours to give out Dermalogica sunblock and give massages to the teams and the guests.
-WQED
Allante Hair Designs & Spa, Inc. has recently signed up with TV station WQED. WQED is a PBS television station based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. WQED has produced many shows for PBS, such as Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. Pittsburgh Magazine is also a publication of WQED. Starting in May Allante’ staff will be going down to the station and volunteering with their tv and radio pledges.
-Locks O’ Love
Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. They meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses they provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers. Allante’ supports this amazing organization whole heartedly. If you meet the locks of love qualifications for used hair and would like to donate please call (724)836-3600 to set up an appointment with one of our stylists and help out someone in need.
